Pirkey Barber’s Commitment to Diversity Highlighted in 2021 LCLD Fellow and Pathfinder Participation

Three Pirkey Barber PLLC attorneys have joined the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s 2021 classes of Fellows and Pathfinders, reflecting the firm’s longstanding commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.

As an LCLD Fellow, David E. Armendariz will participate in a landmark program created by the LCLD to identify, train, and advance the next generation of leaders in the legal profession. David is one of 418 new Fellows, a group of talented and diverse, mid-career attorneys who have been selected by 293 LCLD member corporations and law firms to participate in this career development program.

Danae Robinson and Erik Combs have joined the LCLD Pathfinders program, which trains high-performing, early-career attorneys in critical career development strategies including leadership and the building of professional networks.

“All of us at Pirkey Barber congratulate David, Danae, and Erik on joining the LCLD Fellows and Pathfinders programs,” said Jered Matthyse, a Management Committee Member who represents Pirkey Barber on the LCLD. “Fellow and Pathfinder positions are both honors and opportunities for these talented lawyers, and they are extremely well deserved. David, Danae, and Erik continually demonstrate leadership on our team, dedication to their clients, and a strong commitment to making the legal profession a better place for all who participate in it.”

Pirkey Barber is proud to be a law firm member of the LCLD as one of its efforts to promote diversity within the firm and in the wider legal and business communities. In 2020, the firm held a series of firm-wide townhalls to learn about the ongoing social injustices experienced by people of color and explore how the firm could most effectively reject racism and discrimination and create a more diverse environment. The firm also has a Diversity Committee and a Strategic Diversity Management Plan.

Founded in 2009, the LCLD is a growing organization of more than 350 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who are personally committed to creating a more diverse and inclusive legal profession.
