
Katherine Klammer Madianos
Katherine Madianos focuses her practice on trademark clearance, prosecution, enforcement, and portfolio management, as well as trademark related agreements and transactions.
Katherine guides clients through the complete trademark life cycle, from selection and clearance of new trademarks, to U.S. and international trademark prosecution, policing and dispute resolution. She represents clients in connection with opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and negotiates coexistence and settlement agreements. Katherine also drafts and negotiates trademark licenses, advises on transactions involving trademarks, and performs IP due diligence for corporate transactions.
moreKatherine represents clients in a wide variety of industries and stages of development, including large public companies as well as start-up companies which she frequently represented while running her own trademark practice for several years. Her background also includes working in a large, international law firm coordinating global trademark clearance and registration strategies.
Katherine received her J.D. from The University of California at Berkeley, where she was a member of California Law Review and Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law. In law school, Katherine received the American Jurisprudence Award in Contracts and the Moot Court Advocacy Award. Prior to law school, Katherine graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of California in San Diego, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
Outside the office, Katherine enjoys traveling, movies, and spending time with friends and her two daughters, Gabriella and Mila.
