Biography
Karla focuses her practice on trademark prosecution and management of domestic and international trademark portfolios across a variety of industries. Her practice also includes counseling clients with respect to the selection and clearance of trademarks, policing and enforcement, opposition and cancellation proceedings in the United States and abroad, and domain name and Internet issues.
Prior to joining PirkeyBarber, Karla practiced with Fulbright and Jaworski L.L.P’s Austin office for four years.
Karla is a graduate of Cornell University and earned her J.D. with high honors from The University of Texas School of Law. While attending law school, Karla served as an Associate Editor of the Texas Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. She has also studied in Japan and is proficient in Japanese.
